A variant is one purchasable version of a product, defined by up to three options such as size, colour or material. A product with three sizes in four colours has twelve variants.
| Product level | Variant level |
|---|---|
| Title | Price |
| Description | Compare-at price |
| Vendor | Cost per item |
| Product type | SKU and barcode |
| Tags | Inventory quantity and policy |
| Status | Weight |
| URL handle | Taxable flag |
| SEO title and description | Option values |
A filter that selects products and an edit that writes to variants are not the same size of job. Selecting 800 products with three variants each means editing 2,400 items, which is what counts against per-task limits.
It also changes what you can target: to discount only the XL sizes, you need variant-level filters on the option value, not a product filter.
Bulk Product Edit by MITS edits this field in bulk across a filtered part of your catalog, with a log and a one-click revert.
